2016 Horsetooth Half Marathon Weather Update

The current weather forecast for the 2016 Horsetooth Half Marathon is calling for rain and/or snow, with a storm system predicted to hit Northern Colorado from Friday through Sunday and at this point they cannot predict if we’ll get rain, mixed rain and snow, or snow overnight on Saturday. It is possible that the moisture could turn into a heavy spring snowfall which would present some major challenges for the race.

At this point, it is safe to assume we’ll be running in cool and probably wet weather. Dress appropriately and remember to pack a warm change of clothes in your drop bag to be transported to the finish line. Spoons will be serving hot soup at the finish and we’ll have warm buses waiting to shuttle finishers back to their cars at the Hughes Stadium parking lot.

In the worst case scenario if we do get a major snowfall overnight, we may need to make some course changes at the last minute. All urgent updates will be posted to our Facebook page immediately and we will follow up with a blog post on our website here and send out an email notification via Active.com as soon as we are able.
